Nine Worldviews: Using the Enneagram to Build Happy, Productive and Successful Teams
How can you create an environment where each team member feels valued, heard and recognized? Understanding what truly motivates you and your team is the first step towards creating this environment.
The Enneagram provides a system for leveraging this understanding by identifying the 9 different worldviews of the Enneagram and then explains how each person has their own way of perceiving, processing and responding to relationships and work situations.
The Enneagram also helps us understand what thoughts, feelings and behaviors come forward under stressful interactions.
By recognizing the strengths and potential pitfalls of these nine personality styles, participants will:
-
Be able to problem solve, facilitate decision-making, build happy teams, create collaborative working relationships and reduce unproductive conflict.
-
Use the awareness of the nine different ways of showing up in the world to create positive outcomes and impact.
-
Enhance managing, communicating, and influencing skills through a deepened understanding of what individuals need.
-
Create a culture of appreciation and lean into our unique gifts and talents.
Forest Bathing and Qigong
Access to nature is imperative for our physical, mental, and social health. More and more we are hearing how creativity, happiness and connection to self and others is improved by spending time in nature.
Some preliminary studies have found that phytoncides, organic compounds released by trees, help to reduce stress hormones, improve sleep and your immune system, and enhance white blood cells that help fight cancer.
In fact, the very thing that keeps coastal redwood trees so healthy and resilient is exactly what researchers think might help keep us healthier and more resilient too.
Dr. Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, Sempervirens Fund’s Wellness Advisor says, “Forest bathing is all about getting in nature, slowing down, taking it in through the senses. It’s not a hike for physical fitness, it's not a nature identification walk, it really is just for the purpose of being in nature.”
In this workshop participants will be invited to participate in a slow paced walk through the forest and during the walk experience the gentle movement of Qigong.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice that combines movement, breathing techniques, and meditation to cultivate and balance the flow of energy in the body.
